After the huge success and originality of Resident Evil 1, it would have been hard to make a sequel that even rivaled its brilliance, however Capcom outdid themselves to bring us this hugely entertaining frightfest that surpasses its original in most ways.
The charachter has the choice of playing with rookie cop Leon.S.Kennedy, the red headed hero or Claire Redfield the college student/curvacious heroine. They both become entangled in the nightmare that is Racoon City when the viral infection that turns the dead into the living dead and ultmately the alive into the dead or the running and screaming.The majority of the game is spent in a creepy police station filled with hoards of zombie and unspeakable monsters spawned by the Umbrella Corporation such as the frightening licker.This adventure will take either Leon or Claire through many exciting environments from as zombie infested streets to secret labs.
The controls have not changed much from the original but have been made slightly more accessible. The graphics have not improved drastically but have improved slightly with subtle changes such as the characters movements being more fluid and realistic, the change in the appearance of the character when hurt is a nice touch.
The game is a rollercoaster ride from the frantic start to the panic inducing ending you will remain hooked.The game is accompanied by a great music score that really builds tension,especially in the police station. With two different characters to play with different stories in each, both offering different scenarios theres plenty to see in Raccoon City despite the many extras. This an absolute must have, must play, must love game that really never takes its foot off the pedal. 10/10
