By TrentThis is a review for a gamecube exclusive.
Graphics
These shots are in game, but some of them are very slightly blurry. It's not like that when you actually play the game. There' clearer when you play.

Gameplay
The gameplay is just as good as the graphics. Enemies do more realistic things, such as burst through doors and jump off of things. They are also a lot tougher. And the sub-plot of Lisa Trevor is enough to keep your eyes glued to the screen, looking at every last detail in an attempt to see whether she’s coming or not. You also have defense items that you can use when you’re being attacked. The zombies also become more advanced (crimson heads), if you don’t decapitate them or burn their bodies. And as long as you keep track of what you’re doing and keep moving at a good pace, you won’t get bored. In other words, Capcom made this far more realistic.
Controls
Since people like complaining about Resident Evil and gamecubes “hard” controls, I’ll tell you now that if you know how to move a small analog stick and have good sense, then you’ll have the controls down. Sorry guys, but there’s no control-complaining here.
Scare Factor
For those of you who are already fans of Resident Evil, you shouldn’t really worry about this being a knock-over game. There are some pretty good jump moments. Just turn off the lights at night, and you’re set for a thriller.
Camera Angle
Every now and again, the camera angle will change, slightly affecting the controls. But this isn’t really a problem. Unlike Dino Crisis 3, the controls don’t reset in the middle of a movement, making you wonder what happened. They don’t reset until you stop moving. And if they do reset, they’re easy to figure out.
Voice Acting
This is the moment that all of you Resident Evil Original fans have been waiting for. The voice acting. And guess what? It’s good. It’s very good. And any seemingly silly lines actually get a strange response from one of the characters. For instance, when Barry, referring to his gun, says “No thanks, I really like this buddy system”, Jill comes back by saying “Ooookayyyy”, clearly pointing out that that was a strange, and what some people might consider good, comic relief effort. Don’t worry. There’s not really any comic relief here. Barry was just being enthusiastic.
Difficulty Realism
Capcom has decided that instead of giving us our normal difficulty select system to begin with, they would give us a clever question and two phrases to choose from to decide our difficulty. And since they are making this as realistic as possible, the game won’t be ridiculously hard or ridiculously easy. It seems that they knew what they were doing.
Replay Value
It may or may not turn you off, depending on whether or not you’re still interested in the game or not, but you will eventually come back to get some replay value. There are more weapons, costumes, and modes to be unlocked to keep you playing, such as “One Dangerous Zombie”, where one of your fellow teammates, now a zombie, roams the mansion with grenades. You can’t kill him, or the mansion will blow and it’ll be game over. I’m actually going back to the game this week for some replay value.
Overall
With good graphics, gameplay, camera angles, difficulty realism, voice
acting, controls, and a good scare factor, this game is something that you
must have to complete your Resident Evil collection. And you’ll be
busy for awhile, so you can’t say that you have too much time on your
hands. So, the final score is:
(Please note that my rating system is either a whole number or a number
and a half. There is no 9.7, for instance.)
